On Wednesday 28th March, come and enjoy our usual exciting mix of public experiments, live music, illusions and of course a surprise or two, plus cocktails from our Brain Bar. Please note that for this Lates we will be on the 3rd floor of the Wellcome Wing.
On the programme:
A new mass experiment that is a further
development of the donation/attractiveness experiment run at previous Lates,
this time linked to power manipulation and the perception of brightness and contrast.
The Finn Peters Trio performing live. Finn Peters is one of the UK's leading jazz flute and sax players and the man behind Music of the Mind', a truly unique project whose concept has its source in the brain-mapping experiments of Dr. Mick Grierson of Goldsmith's University, a Lottolab collaborator. Peter's inspired compositions are based on the often surprising melodies produced and recorded by him using pioneering Brain Computer Interface (BCI) technology. With Oren Marshall tuba player, and Mark Sanders on drums, two of the UK's top jazz improvisers.
A unique linear soundscape designed by sound designers and long-time Lottolab collaborators, Loh Humm
The second phase of the Balancing Bob tightrope experiment, which was such a hit at the February Lates, run by Daniel Richardson of Eyethink lab.
Beta, aimed at getting feedback on the design of a new experiment, facilitated
by Rich Clarke, our Director of Science.
The chance to make your own spinning illusion object.
